In January 2008, when the floods alarm was given, our emergency team contributed to the preparation of the AFMZ81 appeal in order to help the communities victim of the waters. Within five months the LWF-ACT helped 42.750 people in13.800 families.  We planned to reach 24.460 people within 5,075.
We have helped the people in the Tete, Sofala and Gaza provinces.
1. Seeds and tools distribution in Zumbo , Buzi district, and Gaza district
2. Food distribution during to 12.000 people in Zumbo Food in a joint program with the WFP
Carter, our Emergency officer in Tete Province says: ”It is a hard work. When we prepare ourselves to go, we know that it is a 600 km adventure in very bad roads. It takes us one to three weeks in the field. Not only our bodies are suffering, the cars also are quickly getting problems. But the fact that we are feeding 12.000 people with food provided by the WFP, this is a great satisfaction. I like my work.”
3. Seeds and mosquito nets were distributed in Mutarara.
4. Non food items provided to the communities via our partner CCM-ACT
